Robinson Pelham unveils new collections embracing joy, the vibrant energy of the Eighties, and kaleidoscope colour

July 2024: British fine jeweller Robinson Pelham is preparing to launch several newcollections this year featuring joy-inducing, thought-provoking jewellery, epitomising elegance, and modern style.

The jeweller, known for its spirited collection of ultra-wearable, ready-to-wear fine jewellery, is unveiling several new collections, each of which embodies the brand’s continued dedication to meticulous design and unparalleled craftsmanship. Colour will of course feature prominently given it is part of Robinson Pelham’s DNA with inspiration from the rainbow.

A number of the newly launched pieces of jewellery pay tribute to the cyclical nature of fashion, with Robinson Pelham revisiting and re-interpreting iconic designs from its storied archives, using recycled materials, and breathing new life into gemstones from those which have languished in the depths of its vaults for more than two decades as well as from older pieces in its collections. This fusion of heritage and innovation embodies Robinson Pelham’s commitment to both timeless elegance and respect for the environment.

This story of ‘old to new’ is what the brand was built on, when it was founded as a bespoke jeweller more than 25 years ago. The Nineties and early 2000s (prior to any ready-to-wear) was spent perfecting breathing new life into existing jewellery, recognising the prized pieces in a jewel, ensuring old pieces live on to tell a new story. It is still a huge part of the Robinson Pelham brand but this time it is available in its Ready-to-Wear collections not just their bespoke jewels.

Stereo: A Vibrant Ode to the 80s

Transport yourself back to the vibrant energy of the 1980s with Stereo and a choice of storied pendants.

This collection brings together some unlikely themes: Firstly, Robinson Pelham has partnered with Turquoise Mountain, a charity which was founded in 2006 by His Majesty King Charles III to revive historic areas and traditional crafts, support a new generation of artisans and provide jobs, skills and a renewed sense of pride in Afghanistan, Myanmar and the Middle East. Beautiful barrels, measuring approximately 40 x20mm, in Malachite, Lapis Lazuli and Morganite form a centre piece of the Stereo pendant. These have been cut for Robinson Pelham by lapidarist Zabihullah Akbari, one of the most skilled artisans working for Turquoise Mountain, who grew up in Kabul.

Secondly, Robinson Pelham has, according to co-founder Zoe Benyon, “shopped our own vault” for stones including pink sapphire, pink tourmaline, tsavorite, green tourmaline and diamond. These form the central part of the playful design, with the gemstones set in the central barrel, emulating Play, Pause, Stop and Record symbols on cassette tape recorders in the 1980s, a decade known for excess energy, while marrying it with the very 21st Century need to unwind. Two gemstone baguettes = Pause; Square-cut gemstone = Stop; Trianglecut gemstone = Play and Round cut gemstone = Record. The Stereo Barrel is tactile, swivels when worn, enabling each gemstone symbol to be seen at different times. The barrel can be suspended on a choice of Robinson Pelham’s necklaces: Identity, Paperclip, Utopia, or Rebel, its new gobstopper-sized beads available in rose quartz, malachite, lapis lazuli. All the wearer needs to do is remember to pause, reflect and embrace life’s rhythm with Stereo.

Stereo available in:

  • Lapis lazuli barrel set with diamond in 18ct yellow gold
  • Morganite with pink tourmaline and pink sapphire in 18ct yellow goldA stack of Robinson Pelham Spinner rings and Constellation bracelets, tap into the current trend for all things personalised and astrological and would add the perfect finishing touch to any nouveau boho look.

Totem: Ancient Mystique Rediscovered

Embark on a journey through time and culture with Totem, a collection that celebrates the timeless allure of ancient mystique.

Revisiting its collection of gemstones acquired over the last 27 years, Robinson Pelham has meticulously crafted each pair of Totem earrings to be as unique as they are fabulous. From beach outings to glamorous dinners, these earrings are designed to captivate attention and spark conversation wherever they go, journeying from jewels to cherished storytellers.

The first pair to launch showcase beautiful rounded Persian turquoise cabochons, renowned for their slightly greener and softer colour compared to Sleeping Beauty turquoise. Set between elegant grain set diamond bars in 18ct yellow gold, these earrings emulate the majestic structure and artistry of a Totem pole. Following suit, the second pair will feature a vibrant array of rainbow-coloured gemstones and Wishes, set within bars adorned with rainbow sapphires and tsavorites to create the same structure.

Totem available in:

  • Persian turquoise and diamond in 18ct yellow gold
  • Rainbow sapphires and tsavorites with Wishes in 18ct yellow gold. Available September 2024.

Fruits of Love – Embracing Modern Elegance

Fruits of Love is inspired by the success of Robinson Pelham’s iconic Aspen collection which launched in 2013 and marked a change in how women wore earrings.

Informal on a grand scale, Fruits of Love reintroduces bold, yet versatile earrings designed to transition effortlessly from day to night. Crafted in 14ct high polished gold and adorned with diamonds, peridots, and tsavorites on the stem and leaf, the wide open, outline earrings create scale with the clever use of gold, stones, and space, and make a perfect statement while exuding modern elegance.

The collection will include five designs – the first three to launch include:

  • Dramatic Heart earrings in yellow gold with diamond set white gold stalks, all in 14ct gold
  • Architectural Pear earrings in yellow gold with diamond set white gold stalks and yellow gold leaves, all in 14ct gold
  • Ripe Pear earrings in 14ct yellow gold with diamond set yellow gold stalks and tsavorite set leaves with an oval peridot set in the base of the pear Intuitively designed, the earrings have a left and right ear (a mirror pair rather than an identical pair), ensuring that the stalks are angled and sweep away from the face from the earlobe towards the top of the ear, elevating the eyeline and creating a flattering cheekbone.

Daystar: Georgian Charm Revisited

The Daystar collection is inspired by a beloved Georgian shield pendant which belonged to the grandmother of one of the founders of Robinson Pelham.

The shield-shaped earrings are set with two central double cut stones, a slim, elegant halfmoon and a drop shield, shapes exclusively cut for Robinson Pelham. Drawing inspiration from the Georgian era, the design also resurrects the historic claw setting with spokes allowing the surrounding gemstones to create a ray like effect as they sit proud from the central, beautiful, shaped stones.

Daystar earrings available in:

  • Rock crystal and rainbow sapphires and tsavorites in 14ct yellow gold
  • Rock crystal and diamond in 14ct yellow gold
  • Blue topaz and diamond in 14ct yellow gold
  • Citrine and yellow sapphire in 14ct yellow gold

Further new additions to the collection due to be release autumn/winter 2024.

2024 sees a new addition to the collection: Spinner rings – and wearers will not be able to resist taking them for a spin! Crafted in 14ct gold, the ring’s gold domed centre is surrounded by a Spinner, set with diamonds, which can spin clockwise or anti-clockwise. Extremely tactile and designed to captivate both the eye and the imagination, it’s the ultimate fidget ring to have on your finger.
