Follow the footsteps of Golden Globe winner Saoirse Ronan in the film adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novel On Chesil Beach
Moonfleet Manor hotel is in the perfect location for film fans who want to follow in the footsteps of recent Golden Globe winner Saoirse Ronan in her role as Florence, in the adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novel On Chesil Beach which is coming to cinemas on 18th May.
Set in England in 1962, On Chesil Beach is a story of two young lovers Edward and Florence and how misunderstandings and fears shape the rest of their lives. The stunning views of Chesil Beach can be enjoyed from the hotel and the main scene between Florence and Edward, which is at the heart of the film, was shot on the beach itself which is just a 15-minute drive away.
Moonfleet Manor is a handsome Georgian manor house magnificently situated overlooking Chesil Beach, so guests do not even have to leave the hotel to enjoy some of the most stunning scenery in the area. The region is rich in natural beauty, with its rolling hills and valleys contrasting with open coastline, huge beaches and magical light.
With views out over Chesil Beach, The Fleet and the open sea, the lovely Mediterranean style restaurant is a great setting to enjoy some of talented Head Chef Michael Culley’s delicious food after a day exploring.
