<p class="p1">The Tsar Stars studs were our starting point, and they were an instant hit. From there, we designed the drop to add extra sparkle and, at the same time, allow the earrings to be worn in multiple ways to suit every occasion.</p></div>

<p class="p1">The length of the detachable drop was crucial. Too short and it doesn’t make an impact, too long and some people are intimidated. The length needed to be a universal “one size fits all” while still providing the wow factor. We designed several prototypes, found the sweet spot, and tested them &#8211; like we do with all our pieces – by having the team wear them to see how they felt and moved in real life. This is critical, as the section where the earring slides onto the post of the stud is articulated so that the earrings can swing freely. If not articulated, the earrings would be too rigid when worn.</p></div>

<p class="p1">While stars often feature in fine jewellery collections, ours is unique: an octagram, an eight-pointed star. Its perfect symmetry represents balance, harmony and divine connection, and it is sometimes referred to as the Star of Regeneration – a design that carries a story of renewal and timeless elegance.</p></div>

<p class="p1">This is one of Robinson Pelham’s iconic moments for this year for sure. It’s a wonderful coming together of Charlotte Tilbury and Robinson Pelham &#8211; two British brands spearheaded by women.</p>
<p class="p1">Seeing the pictures for the first time was a ‘wow’ moment. In fact, the whole team were blown away…….we should have videoed their reactions! Don’t you think they look perfect on her? They are so Celine Dion and work so well with the campaign which is incredible. We also think it’s refreshing that Celine Dion and the talented styling team are supporting independent jewellers.</p></div>

<p class="p1">Independent jewellers are definitely in the spotlight and it’s really refreshing to see big names choosing these in the most authentic of ways. It’s wonderful they are being celebrated.</p>
<p class="p1">We know from experience first-hand that people get excited wearing brands which are not globally recognised. The moment when you find something, somewhere, and it feels unique. I’m always drawn to independent brands, enjoying not only their designs but also learning their journey and how they’ve built their craft and vision.</p></div>

Previously Emmy-nominated and Channel 4’s biggest ever drama when it was made 40 years ago, this new revenge romp feels as searingly relevant today as it did back then.</p>
<p class="p2">Coming to Channel 4 next year, the images feature Brenda Blethyn and Jessica Reynolds as the two versions of Emma Harte; a housemaid turned-mogul, daughter, mother, lover, fighter and a 20th century feminist icon who refused to know her ‘place’.</p>
<p class="p2">1911. Emma Harte, an impoverished ambitious maid in Yorkshire, England goes on a dizzying journey to become the world’s richest woman, gazing down from a sprawling luxury New York penthouse. A rags-to-riches tale of women through the 20th century, Emma defies the expectations of her society, fearlessly challenging the roles she&#8217;s given, smashing glass ceilings, and never, ever deviating from her masterplan: Get to the top. Whatever it takes.</p>
<p class="p2">Produced by The Forge Entertainment (National Treasure, The Buccaneers, Marriage), a Banijay UK company, the eight-part series is written by Katherine Jakeways and co-written by Roanne Bardsley. A Woman of Substance will be distributed internationally by Banijay Rights.</p>
<p class="p2">A Woman of Substance was commissioned for Channel 4 by Rebecca Holdsworth, Commissioning Editor and Gwawr Lloyd, Acting Head of Drama. Executive producers are</p>

<p><strong>When did you first conceive the <em>Identity</em> collection?</strong></p>
<p>The first design was sketched in 2014, two years after we opened our flagship store in Chelsea, London. We struck gold, literally and figuratively, with our first prototype. It looked beautiful, felt incredible to wear, and moved with the wearer in an elegant, effortless way.</p>
<p>We always wanted to create a statement gold necklace that still offered versatility, which is very much at the heart of Robinson Pelham’s design DNA, and <em>Identity</em> hits the spot.</p></div>

<p>The necklace came first, featuring interchangeable diamond pavé bar.  Soon after, we introduced our now-signature rainbow pavé bar (pic <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/43hy6mgdk0az0nxyalqk9/Short-Identity-with-rainbow-bar.jpg?rlkey=yuoq3aerv9yyqlaf4pslds60l&amp;st=yzd73pq2&amp;dl=0">here</a>), set with green tsavorites and yellow, orange, pink, purple and blue sapphires.  Enamel bars in a range of colour pops came next, followed by diamond pavé hearts.  Then came bespoke commissions – the ID token, a flat, solid gold plate set with names in diamonds. The font is designed by us making each one unique and symbolic to the owner.  In late 2015, we added <em>Identity </em>bracelet to the collection to complete the look.</p>
<p><strong>How are you celebrating 10 years of <em>Identity</em>?</strong></p>
<p>We’re launching three new connectors designs called pommels.  The first features an exceptional 1.50ct pear-shaped diamond set in the sculptural pommel design.  This creates a luminous focal point that captures light, attention, and individuality.  The second, a pink sapphire and diamond pavé concave pommel, and the third is a diamond pave button pommel.  Each catches the light and looks striking whether worn centrally or offset to one side.  The pommel is anchored by looping its solid end into an Identity link and is secured by looping the other end onto a hinged link to close the necklace.</p></div>

<p>Its bold yet elegant design has a timeless quality that resonates with clients.  It’s a modern heirloom.  Things really took off when Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted wearing it; she loved it so much she requested to stock it online and in GOOP stores, which was a huge moment for us.</p>
<p><strong>How has the collection’s appeal widened? </strong></p>
<p>Following the introduction of<em> Identity</em> in 9ct and 18ct white gold, we noticed increasing interest from men. The necklace and bracelet designs began to resonate with a male audience, particularly because of the customisable lengths. It has  opened an exciting new market for us.</p></div>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p class="p1">The nearly 200 lots in this sale tell Barbara Taylor Bradford’s own story—including her favourite typewriter, paintings of her beloved dogs, select pieces of jewellery and rare first editions of her own works, as well as some received from British Prime Ministers—tracing her journey from a Yorkshire newsroom to international literary acclaim. The items will tour Doyle’s galleries in Palm Beach and Beverly Hills before being displayed for public exhibition at Doyle New York beginning May 3, noon-5pm. A live auction will be held there on Wednesday, May 7, and will also be available for online bidding and via telephone.</p>
<p class="p1">During her life, Barbara Taylor Bradford wrote 40 novels, selling over 92 million copies worldwide. Her contributions to literature and journalism earned her numerous accolades on both sides of the Atlantic, including an OBE from Queen Elizabeth II for services to literature and The Lifetime Platinum Bestseller</p>
<p class="p1">Award from Nieslen, an award only given to a very small number of authors who have achieved lifetime sales of over five million copies in the UK. She was also the first ambassador for Women in Journalism and received honorary doctorates from five universities. Ten of Barbara’s novels have been adapted into successful television miniseries, including the Emmy-nominated A Woman of Substance. Now, 40 years after it first aired, the story is being adapted once again for a new global TV audience.</p>
<p class="p1">Notable lots include a selection of Barbara Taylor Bradford’s jewellery, together with first edition copies of A Woman of Substance. Other auction highlights include items that highlight the cultural landscape she inhabited, such as signed first copies of Paul Robeson and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s memoirs and two signed photographs of Sir Anthony Hopkins, an actor who starred in Barbara Taylor Bradford’s To Be The Best miniseries. The sale also features some of the entertaining and dinner services she and Bob would often use for the dinner parties she was fêted for hosting, many of which counted upon the highest ranks of the literary and political intelligentsia as guests.</p></div>

<p>International author Barbara Taylor Bradford OBE died in November 2024, aged 91.  <em>A Woman of Substance</em> is one of the most famous of novels in Barbara Taylor Bradford’s vast literary estate.  This went from bestseller to super seller within its first year and stayed on <em>The New York Times’</em> list for 43 weeks.  Since it was published in 1979 by Granada Publishing, now HarperCollins in the UK, and Doubleday in USA, it has gone on to be an international bestselling sensation, selling over 82 million copies, in 90 countries and translated into over 40 languages.  A further seven books were written as a continuation of the Emma Harte saga.</p>
<p>The Barbara Taylor Bradford Trust now manages the literary and media rights for the international bestselling author’s 40 novels that she wrote.  The rights deal between The Forge and The Barbara Taylor Bradford Estate was handled by the Curtis Brown Literary and Talent Agency.</p></div>
